Melissa Allen is the Director of Catering & Special Events at The Ebell of Los Angeles. She joined the Ebell in January 2007 with years of experience as an independent wedding planner with a focus on creating vintage events. After studying voice, theater and film in her hometown of Las Vegas, she spent six years at Disney Feature Animation in Production Management before embarking into the wonderful world of weddings & events.
Melissa is a regular contributor of wedding advice at WeddingAces.com and has appeared at various workshops and speaking engagements. She is a member of the Steering Committee for the Association of Bridal Consultants Greater Los Angeles Networking Group, and is the past co-director of their Educational Workshops.
In keeping with the vintage touch, Melissa is a vocalist with the Fabulous Esquires Big Band and can occasionally be found on dance floors around the southland lindy hopping and jitterbugging.

“A band that plays forties style music (must be able to sing polka dots and moonbeams plus the coffee song like Sinatra) but also take requests for wedding favorites. The polka dot song is the deal breaker. I’m planning details around that song. A little funk music would keep the party going as well”
