I’m always delighted to see a break from the norm. Now, “normal” certainly has its place – what are traditions if not “normal” being done over and over again to the delight and comfort of generations?? And what is a wedding without a photographer?? (begs the question “if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?”) One wouldn’t dream of having a wedding without photography to capture the moments.
What about engagements?? A friend of mine, whose boyfriend popped the question on a stroll through a park, was fortunate to have a passer-by witness the moment and, quickly thinking, captured the excitement on their point-and-shoot camera. Photographer Michael Negrete documented a friend’s engagement, capturing the surprising moment in a frame by frame imaging he condensed into a slideshow for the couple to share. Fabulous!! What an excellent keep sake – such a precious moment! I can imagine this slideshow (or images that make it) as a fantastic “save the date” announcement.
And what about the morning after the wedding??? Jacob Galleries is starting to capture the same sentimentality of “the day after the night before” sweetness. How fun is that??!
Why not put the dress back on and go out and play?! B&G Photography shows you don’t have to trash the dress to get cool post-event images, just go have fun!!!
Photographer James Johnson makes any photo shoot an adventure in laughter and delight – so go slosh in the surf! Have fun!
So photography is another place to “think outside the box” – if its special to you, if its a moment that passes so quickly and emotions flood over the details, its worth capturing those memories on film.
Special thanks to Michael Negrete Photography, Jacob Galleries, B&G Photography, James Johnson Photographer for the images and the inspiration.
